Ok, coming from SoundGym I was like OK, a bit of music training is cool. These exercises are terribly thought through for a beginner. Like if you are still learning intervals and a game asks you to memorize a sequence and repeat the notes with only one chance at hearing it, that’s kinda rigid and makes it no fun.

NOOOOOO!!!! I had 15 tabs open to go a lot more negative in tonecoins for inversions(my favorite, and most challenging contest) , but accidentally closed them and could not pass 6th place...However, I HAVE started to actually hear the intervals between notes, in the past for high scores (up to 26) I would just be sort lucky with less skill. If I got lot of root chords (which I can consistently hear) and few 7ns, I can play a bunch to get a pretty high score, but I would not actually learn as much. So this is progress, just not helpful for the championship.

Maybe try to practice the contests, as they require slightly different skills than the games.
Ahhhhh!!! Again.

Excellent!
It's my first time in this website, can you tell me if this really works? Did you get any improve in your ear?

I would quibble a bit with what Dima says about the melody games. In my experience, Melody Hunter DOES give you practical, singable melodies to work with (heck, some of the levels even use well-known melodies like When the Saints Go Marching In). It's Melody Jay and Melodix that do not. Neither of those are in my rotation. I did make some progress on Melodix before Melody Hunter came out, but took it out of my rotation soon thereafter.

But I absolutely agree that a consistent workout on this site only works if done in concert with a full, consistent musical practice of playing and/or composing music.

Ah you are right! I’m probably confusing it with Melodix, but Melody hunter is better.
